Research for “Finding Your Roots” Season 4
At 8/7c on Tuesday, 3 October 2017, the fourth season of “Finding Your Roots” starts on PBS. This season features Ta-Nehisi Coates, Ted Danson, Bryant Gumbel, Scarlett Johansson, Garrison Keillor, Téa Leoni, William H. Macy, Janet Mock, Lupita Nyong'o, Paul Rudd, Amy Schumer, Mary Steenburgen and Christopher Walken amongst others. The first episode traces the family histories of Larry David and Bernie Sanders.
If anybody shouldn’t know the series yet: In each episode the family history of two or more persons is revealed. They get a “book of life” that contains the information researchers gathered together as well as a family tree. DNA-Genealogy is used as well. The host is Harvard historian Henry Louis Gates, Jr. He discusses the findings with every person and guides them through their family history.
We had the pleasure to do research on the German ancestors of some of this year’s celebrities. Of course, we are now looking forward to learn even more about their ancestors.
