Andrea Bentschneider at the IGGP Conference 2023

We are very pleased to announce that our boss Andrea Bentschneider will be attending this year's IGGP Conference in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA live and on-site with several presentations and Connection Sessions.

The conference is organized every two years by the International German Genealogy Partnership (IGGP), which aims to connect researchers of German-speaking ancestors worldwide. This year, it will be a hybrid event, taking place both in Fort Wayne and virtually between 09 and 11 June 2023. It will offer expert presentations on researching German-speaking ancestors as well as Connection Sessions that will allow attendees to get in touch on-site and online - worldwide and at different times. In addition, there will be exhibitor areas both on-site and online.

Andrea Bentschneider will give a total of two on-site presentations at the conference:

  • "How to Successfully Research at a German Archive" on Friday, 09 June 2023 at 10:30 a.m. (Eastern Daylight Time) and
  • "Day Laborers and Farm Workers on a Mecklenburg Estate around 1895" on Saturday, 10 June 2023 at 01:30 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time).

In addition, there will be two interactive Connection Sessions, both available on-site and virtual, moderated by Andrea Bentschneider (among others):

  • "Finding German Records that aren't Online" on Friday, 09 June 2023 at 06:00 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time, midnight German time).
  • "Finding and Working with Professional Genealogists in Germany" together with other members of the Association of German-speaking Professional Genealogists (Sabine Schleichert, Thomas Pöhlmann, and Lars Thiele) on Sunday, 11 June 2023 at 12:00 noon (Eastern Daylight Time, 06:00 p.m. German time).
