THE STORY BEHIND IT
In 1988, my aunt gave me this photo of my paternal grandmother – it was the first I had ever seen of her. Due to our resemblance, it immediately caught my interest. I felt a special connection and wanted to find out more about her.
In the early 1990's, I was contacted by a descendant of a William Bentschneider who emigrated from Germany to America in 1854. Since then, my own research has produced detailed information as well as proven dates and facts for over 1,400 persons going back as far as 1657. One of the highlights of my research was finding the records of my great-grandfather's great-grandfather Johann Bentschneider's emigration from Germany to America in September 1866 to join his grandson Wilhelm.
